We have long had a child fatality review team in our county. But the strength of the group has waned in recent years. It's time to restart it . . . if it's going to be restarted at all.

I've reviewed the relevant authority (Family Code 264.501, et. seq.) to get an idea of its real purpose. But I'd like to know if, in other jurisdictions, the child fatality review team has actually served a beneficial purpose. Has it really improved the investigation of those deaths in those jurisdictions? Has it reduced child deaths?
