I had a Sergeant/Investigator call and ask how he should file charges against a person for engaging in a cockfight--Cruelty to Livestock Animal or Cruelty to Animal. The definition of "livestock animal" includes "native or nonnative fowl commonly raised under agricultural practives." Apparently, his prosecutor isn't sure having never handled one before now. Suggestions will be appreciated. I am guessing Section 42.09.

It can be filed under 42.09(a)(6) as a felony, which is what I suggest. Our S/O just busted one here.
