The_Learned_HandInvestigator as an arresting officer?
We are a smaller prosecuting office. We employ one investigator in our office.
Recently a individual contacted us about a violation of a protective order. Our office wants to use the investigator to look into the accusation, file complaint, and if necessary secure an arrest warrant.
Are there any issues with utilizing our investigator in this manner.

John.WilkersonNot sure if this helps, however here is an alternate way to look at this question.
Now your investigator knows the PO exists, and your investigator sees the suspect violate the PO, by statute, your investigator SHALL arrest the violator. CCP 14.03
