Has anyone secured a conviction pursuant to the Ref, er, "sports participant", protection provision of Sec. 22.01 (c)(2)?

Just curious.

Shannon,

Now you know the reason we haven't had a single case is because the new law is working. By upping the punishment, we have effectively scared the fans into submission. That is government hard at work for you.

I was an official up until a couple of years ago and I received a lot more threats and confrontations than I ever have as an ADA. High school football and basketball officials should get combat pay.
