A proposed law that would give journalists limited immunity from revealing their confidential sources in court was shot down in the Texas House on a technical point Monday night, dimming its prospects for passage this session.

Sounds like something similar to a motion to quash!

What was the sentence or paragraph that had a comma instead of a semicolon?

Ken: Well, it was a little more than that, I think. The bill analysis is required to accurately reflect the changes made to the bill in committee. In this case there were a number of flaws, at least one was sufficient for the parlimentarian.

No, those "comma/semicolon" stories were put forth to make it sound as trivial as possible, but that is not what was sustained.

Of course, some in the media ran with that angle without doing any actual research ... which kind of begs the question about a privilege, doesn't it?
