On today's TDCAA's "Issues in prosecution" is a post about this case. Do you really think the defendant's girlfriend believes him innocent? Counsel was ineffective, yes; and the State may decide not to prosecute, yes; but does that mean the fellow was innocent, no. Explaining that someone who is found "not guilty" is not actually innocent seems equally hard for some people to swallow. Surely it is not only lawyers who understand this significant distinction? Love IS so blind.
