We are a small office and have repeatedly had issues with a particular new reporter slamming our office and the law enforcement agencies and printing things that simply are not true. However, our office is prosecuting him for a DWI 2nd and Violation of Protective Order. Could we serve the paper to stop him from the Defendant from reporting on the entity that is prosecuting him until the case is resolved?

I agree with Ann that the simple answer is no.

I would discuss it with the newspaper's editor or publisher and let them know that this particular reporter might not be objective where your office and law enforcement is concerned.

Thanks Jedd and Ann. I was pretty certain that would be the answer. The newspaper will not fire this particular employee. We have been down this road before. Thanks for the assistance though.
