One of my agencies just asked about doing citations in lieu of making an onsite arrest for some Class A & B misdemeanor offenses. Is anyone working with agencies that are doing this and what is your procedure for this?

This article from today's Dallas Morning News says Travis County SO and Austin PD do it. Try calling that CA's office to see if they have any insights.

Art. 14.06 CCP allows it under certain circumstances. The problem is developing a procedure with the courts.
