I'm doing an Appellee's brief on a case we tried last year. The Defendant sold a rock of crack to a confidential informant, in the presence of an undercover officer, from the back of a horse. The Defendant was on his horse when they drove up, shook hands from the saddle, and conducted the transaction there.
At first I thought, "Only in Crockett!" Then I wondered, Surely there must be stranger places/ways to sell drugs .... Cue banjo music.

You've got to feel sorry for the poor animals dragged into a life of crime like this... My personal favorite was the drug dealer arrested with an albino pit bull named "Kilo" sitting next to him in the car.

Methods of concealing drugs are fascinating too. If the consequences of illicit drugs aren't sufficient to deter potential drug abusers perhaps they should consider where the drugs are transported before sale: in gas tanks, inside puppies, and inside human body cavities and muscles. Remember the "crack crack" case from the CCA! What are other gross transport methods?
My favorite drug story was the woman we prosecuted who was arrested for DWI after causing a major accident. She was searched at the jail, and her meth was found in her panties. The funny part was how she claimed it got there. She testified that after the accident, some unidentified stranger helped her out of her car. Although she was dazed from the wreck, she remembers feeling him put his hands down her pants. Obviously this kind stranger thought she needed a little pick-me-up after such an accident and was nice enough to give her 6 grams of meth for free.

Texas Police Charge Man With Having Crack in Sundae

This banana split was topped with something more potent than just a cherry.
A motorist was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after he was caught with two rocks of crack cocaine he had stashed in his ice cream dessert.
Oscar Martinez, 41, of Richmond, had been pulled over by police officer David Bentley late Sunday after he failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing on the campus of Wharton County Junior College.
Bentley discovered that Martinez had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding traffic warrant.
Richmond police spokesman Sgt. Lowell Neinast said Martinez told Bentley that he wished he could finish the banana split he had in his car.
When Bentley saw the melting banana split on the front floorboard of Martinez's car, he noticed that it was topped with a square-shaped object that turned out to be crack cocaine.
"One of the crack rocks was sitting right on top of the bananas," Neinast told the Fort Bend Herald-Coaster. "Once he found the first crack rock, he figured there were more inside. He emptied it out and there it was."
Martinez was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, a traffic warrant and possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone, a third-degree felony. He was released from the Fort Bend County Jail after posting an $8,500 bond, Neinast said Friday.
"I've been doing this for 20 years and I could give you all kinds of stories, but this is really one of a kind," Neinast said. "But true."

OT, but before I married my dear wife, I dated an ER nurse in Houston, who handled a case where a lady of the evening was admitted in severe distress. You can guess where, based on the above-postings. Upon investigation by the Doc, there were several toy soldiers found in the aforementioned unmentionable area. The patient could provide no explanation regarding how this happened.
Surely one of AP's friends at the Tattletale covered that story?
