How do you do it?

Given the number of posts/emails I see about this, there must be a number of different procedures from the varying offices that actually pursue these. I'm doing it the best way I've figured out, but I'm quite certain there's substantial room for improvement.

We file the nisis as soon as practicable after the FTA. Unless no answer is filed, we sit on the case and wait for the defendant to get rearrested. At that point I send a proposed judgment to the surety for court costs, transport fees, and interest, along with a letter that says sign and return the judgment with payment. If they don't get back to me after a month I set it on the civil docket which is usually enough incentive to get a check from them.

What do you do?
