Harris County Juvenile Probation teachers currently belong to TCDRS. However, the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) has been sending Harris County Juvenile Probation letters claiming that the teachers should belong to TRS instead of TCDRS, because the Harris County Juvenile Board holds an open-enrollment charter awarded by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Has any other county gotten any letters from TRS? If so, what response did you give TRS?
