Danalynn Recer, of the Gulf Region Advocacy Center in Houston, is scheduled to testify here later this month in an evidentiary hearing on a post-conviction writ in a death penalty case.

The sole issue is whether trial counsel provided ineffective assistance by failing to seek additional testing after a consulting psychologist made a diagnosis of "mild diffuse brain damage."
