Juvenile is charged with delinquent conduct (POM < 2 oz). Juvenile Probation Office has tried repeatedly to get him to come in so that they may fill out the intake paperwork and see about a court-appointed attorney for him, etc. Juvenile will not come in.

The JPO has asked me to request a directive to apprehend the juvenile. He was released to his parents after the offense. Is this an appropriate use of a directive to apprehend?

Any input is appreciated.

Yes.

Generally a juvi is released only upon the "promise" of return to court. Was your juvi released under conditions or just released by detention or the PD.

Not that it matters. You can still pick him up with a DTA.
