Florida considers dual high courts
Although the proposal may not be successful, Florida is playing with the idea of splitting its high court into civil and criminal divisions. I believe that Texas and Oklahoma are the only others states to have any real division of responsibility. But the Florida plan has a twist: Democrats will fill the Criminal Division and Republicans the Civil Division. Anyone else find this bizarre?

Any time a branch of government goes without "reform" for more than 25 years you need to do something, just to keep it interesting. Seems like a radical change in job descriptions for the sitting judges, that maybe they did not bargain for. Not all that often that the Republican House gets overruled by the Republican Senate, especially when it is the Speaker's bill.
