Out of curiosity, does your office follow the procedures outlined in Chapter 47 of the CCP when returning stolen property to the true owner by obtaining a court order or do you simply return the property to the owner and bypass this entire process?

It would seem obtaining court orders to return every piece of stolen property to the true owners would be very time consuming.
