child porn and proving age
I have read many of the earlier posts on this topic and was wondering whether calling a pediatrician is still the favored method for proving a child's age when the child is of unknown identity (pictures from the internet).

In my case, a few of the pictures are said to have been verfied as child pornography with the "FBI Database." Who is the correct witness to offer an opinion on this? Is it somebody from the FBI?

Thanks,
Johnny

If the FBI is your source, then they will gladly supply a witness.

JV, contact Grant Sparks at the AG's internet crimes bureau office. He just lectured on this very subject today in Austin at the TDCAA's seminar, and he is a really helpful prosecutor. He has helped me on many occasions and is well respected as "the authority" in the state.

Just ask Lori Rickert. She is here at the seminar.

The way I understand, the images can be sent, via cdrom via the US Postal Inspector, to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who has the archives of these items, and what is known about them. They catalog both known and unknown images. That's the simple version. They do amazing work!

Otherwise you can have a medical professional (do you know a SANE nurse or Dr?) testify as to the Tanner phase of development and age range correlation that the child exhibits.
