Anyone have an office motto?
Do people really live their lives according to the dictates of a pithy phrase? I guess if you do it should be very short and rhyme to truly count as a motto, like New Hampshire's "Live Free or Die." That doesn't rhyme I know but it's pithy.

I have a copy of Travis' 1836 Letter from the Alamo over my desk, and I like his tag line...

"p.s. - The Lord is on our side."

some more motto options from an "old book"...sorry, no Latin translations available

"It is not good to be parital to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice."

"When justice is done, it brings joy to the upright but terror to evildoers."

"Whoever says to the guilty, 'You are innocent"--
people will curse him and denounce him.

"Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent--both are detestable."

"Let Justice roll on like a river."

My favorite: "Hate evil, love good. Maintain justice in the courts."

What about the time-honored saying heard at many a docket call:

"If you can't do the time, don't do the crime."
