Truth Prevails, Still
The SCOTUS chose truth over a defendant's complaint about the circumstances of his confession. Bottom line: defendant can't lie on the stand and prevent impeachment, even with confession that may have been obtained through Sixth Amendment violation. This is not shocking news, but it is good to see that, when balancing things, SCOTUS still prefers truth. For details, click here.

After all the hits the prosecution seems to have taken lately under Crawford and Gant, not to mention in capital litigation, this case does something to restore one's faith in SCOTUS's oversight of the criminal justice system process.
