Facts:
Elderly victim's "friend" is visiting. He asks to use restroom. Victim is in kitchen, she turns around and sees Suspect standing near her purse. As he leaves, she notes he is walking funny. Later she discovers her wallet is missing.
Suspect is on surveillance video at local quick stop dropping a wallet in trash barrel. Later Suspect admits to taking wallet, and throwing wallet in trash at store. Claims he took $107 from wallet.
Victim says there was $800 behind pictures in wallet.

P.D. RayI don't understand. $107 + $800 more doesn't equal $1500. Are you saying that's a $593 wallet?
Were there credit cards and ID taken to charge poss ID Info?

Martin PetersonEven if the $800 was unknowingly later tossed with the wallet, the theft of the entire value of the property was complete. The grade of the offense is not really controlled by the knowledge or intent of the thief about exactly what was stolen or its value.
