Ok, we have an order for testing for HIV under 21.31. Problem is who does the actual testing. Defendant is in jail and has pled to offense. Do we inform TDC of the order, does the jail nurse do the testing? As a practical matter how have other jurisdictions handled this situation?

We have sometimes had the county public health department do it (they have an HIV program) and sometimes had the jail medical staff do it. You want someone who is familiar with the state health department protocol for these things.
