Are offices accepting misdemeanor K-2 cases without lab reports? If so, how are you prosecuting the cases?

No, and here's why - There is, for lack of a better term, a "magic ring" of chemicals making up the synthetic marijuana, which the crooks are trying to disguise with other chemicals. You have to run several standards, sometimes, to uncover that ring. K2 is a nightmare for the lab, but.......

Same response as here. It's not just that you don't know which synthetic it is, it's that you don't know that it's a synthetic at all. It's possible you're seeing actual marijuana, not the fake stuff...This message has been edited. Last edited by: Brody V. Burks,

Thank you everyone for your responses. Just to confirm, nobody is prosecuting K-2 cases currently, correct? Or are your labs agreeing to test K-2, misdemeanor amounts?

I've prosecuted about a half a dozen of them, all but one of them on lab results. The other one was a defendant who was in jail and her court appointed counsel contacted us, asking that we file the case without labs. They've all resulted in pleas. DPS Waco has done labs for us in the past.
