I slept through negotiable instruments in law school. What's the deal with collecting 2-party checks? Some DA/CA brochures say "we don't take 2-party checks." Others say "we will try to collect them volunarily." Who does the merchant send the notice to? The maker or the payee? Who would we send the letter to if the merchant fails?
