I'm just curious why DFW ranks three ughs to Lubbock's one?

I'm calling the Chamber of Commerce. We can now bill ourselves as a "No-ugh" city.

South Padre should have re-opened by now. Hello? What are the odds it would get hit again, right?

I have many relatives in DFW. Plus, it's a mess to get around in if you are not from them. Fort Worth less so than Big D.

Well Ken, for one thing, the wife would expect me to commute daily if the seminar were held in Austin. And that logic flies in the face of all that is American.

Secondly, it has been rare that seminars have been held in Austin for our organization. Not unheard of, but very rare that seminars have been held in Austin.

I agree with JB...South Padre would be good.

Its only 286 miles from Amarillo--that's not very far for a West Texan. Hey, it's not very far for any Texan.

If we go at the right time, the weather's great. We could probably hold the seminars at the race track for a very small fee. There are lots of motels there. And as I said in my post on the other thread, lots of high tone cafes, altho they are very expensive, and they don't give you much food. But if you bring a can of spam with you, you won't starve.

No hurricanes either, and that's a fact.

Let's think outside the box here, Greg.

In the interest of improving foreign relations (see thread on International Court ruling against Texas on death penalty cases), we could hold it in Cozumel, right? That's really just South Padre Island with a slightly more tropical feel.

Terry, my doctor has me on the same diet that Brumley is on, namely, I can't eat any food that is packed in gelatin. Thank goodness. He also told me not to eat any meat products or by-products that come packaged in a can.

The triple ughs seem to be working, poor DFW is in last place. We don't want you guys anyway.

I vote for Ruidoso, too. The Inn of the Mountain Gods has great meeting facilities and they don't serve spam. The scenery, golf, and casino are nice too. They probably don't have enough hotel rooms for all of us that usually show up at the big annual conference, but they'd probably have enough for any of our other seminars.

Next to Fort Worth, it's a great place to go. Why go to a nasty beach when there are mountains to see?

So what if TDCAA can't pull off a seminar out of state? Ruidoso is nice, but not in Texas (at this time, anyway). Surely there are more locales in our State worthy of consideration.

Italy or Paris (Texas). Then it feels like we're leaving the country. Or getting deeper into it, depending on your definition of "country."

South Padre Radisson website says they are down until November 15th. How about El Paso?
