We have burglary of a habitation case where the burglar tries to convince the alarm company that he is the homeowner when he can't get the password/code entered correctly on the keypad. We were lucky enough to get this short conversation on tape. The homeowner and detective both are 100% certain that our suspect is the voice on the tape. This is our only evidence connecting this suspect with the burlgary. It would be nice to have an expert do a voice comparison (you know, just like on CSI) but we've never had any experience with voice recognition, or even know if this is accepted science in a TX criminal case. Anybody out there dealt with this issue?
