GaryBI am aware that the court is authorized to require someone being placed on probation to get a high school diploma or a GED as a condition of probation. Both curriculums would have an English course. I do not know if the appellate court would support an English course directly but if the person on probation can not speak English it is likely that he/she has not does not have a high school diploma or a GED. Even if the curriculum offers the primary language and English as a second language the Court may be able to require the person to attend and complete a GED course with English as a second language.
