Hunting Lawsuit-Need Advice
My husband and I went hunting, with permission, at a friend's ranch. My husband shot a breeder buck on accident after it had jumped out in front of the deer he was aiming at. He has a license and everything necessary to go with it. The friend's dad, who wasn't even on the property at the time but knew we were there, decided that we need to pay him $15,000 for that buck. We never signed any contract or agreement stating which deer we could shoot and which we couldn't. This was a COMPLETE accident. We don't have the kind of money nor do I believe we need to pay it for an accident. Can he sue us for the money if everything we did was legal? He even illegally tagged the deer as his own.
