Theft of Service- so called Rental Agreements
If a business actually sells a product to an individual on credit but parties enter into a so-called "Rental Agreement" is this a criminal offense under Sect. 31.04? 31.04 refers to a "Rental Agreement" and not a purchase agreement. Seems Companies are using this Section to enforce civil debt. If person pays under this agreement and then stops, how does a prosecutor show intent???

"HOW TO BECOME AN UNPAID CIVIL ATTORNEY - 101"

A: Join the ranks of prosecutor;

B: Take calls from the furniture/tool/equipment rent to own managers/owners. Let them tell you of their woes:
(1) they found a willing client; (2) they made some money off of them, usually with a big interest rate; (3) the purchaser was willing to purchase something on a rental agreement form; and, (4) to their complete surprise, that person/business disappeared;

C: Call civil attorneys in town, and check out the local rates to file against these individuals for default, etc... in civil court (with very little promise of recovery of money or property)

D: You wont have to spend a long time figuring out why they have come to you. You are now an unpaid civil attorney. They have a greater chance of recovery from a criminal charge, and the business owners do not have to pay you.
