Jim TireyPurchase of weapons through payroll deduction
Our sheriff has asked me to render an opinion concerning the propriety of allowing deputies to purchase their weapons through a payroll deduction agreement. The County would purchase the weapon and the deputy can sign an agreement to pay for it over the course of a year through a payroll deduction.
The City does this. I can see a few different reasons why this might not be legal, but I would be interested to know if any other Counties do this and how the agreement is structured.
