Anyone have experience with Dr. Robert Cantu of Austin as an expert witness? He's testifying in the punishment phase of a capital murder DP case that starts next week.

He met with the defense attorneys, the mitigation specialist, and a family member. Then he watched the family member testify about the defendant's childhood poverty and abuse. Then he said people who have those experiences often grow up angry and desensitized to violence.

He didn't interview the defendant. He won't give an opinion about future dangerousness because he agrees with the American Psychiatric Association that says psychiatrists shouldn't predict it.
