I am need of assistance regarding a defense expert. He has been endorsed by the defense in a capital case that was sent back for an evidentiary hearing by our Court of Criminal Appeals. He is to testify regarding ineffective assistance of counsel issues for failure to put on a discredited alibi defense

His name is John P. Niland and he is the Director of the Capital Trial Project of Texas Defender Service, a private, non-profit law firm. His address is 510 S. Congress, Suite 307, Austin, TX 78704. He claims that he has been a lawyer for 23 years and that for 7 of those years he worked in some capacity as a full or part-time Public Defender. He has apparently appeared on numerous death penalty defense panels and speaks frequently for the Department of Public Advocacy and the NLADA.
