Senator Staples filed SB 578 on 02-17-2005. This bill will amend Section 1701.357 of the Occupations Code to include District and County Attorney Investigators to carry a firearm as a retired DA/CA Investigator. The bill also includes the change from 20 years of service with one agency to a total of 15 years of service with any state or local law enforcement agency. This should cover just about all of our members. Please contact your local reps concerning this bill. We have several investigators lined up to testify concerning this bill.
