Juvenile Writ
So there's an inmate who was adjudicated as a juvneile and then transferred to TDCJ to finish his sentence.

How does he properly file a writ?
And where would it go--CCA, CoA, SC?

As I understand Ex parte Valle 104 SW3D 888, a juvenile can file a writ. The trial court hears it and then it can be appealed up to the CoA (not the CCA becaue it's not criminal and not a final conviction under 11.07).

Has anyone handled juvenile writs? This case is ancient and, I'm fairly certain, there's nothing left of it...even though this guy may have been trying to figure out how to do a writ for a long time.

So, I would appreciate any and all juvenile writ responses you may have around.

You are correct.

We've seen them filed as constitutional writs to the trial court and then appealed to the CoA.
