Thanks for the update. One of the difficulties in courts-martial is that all the defendants "clean up real good", that and the fact they can give unsworn testimony that is not subject to cross-examination. Drives me nuts sometimes. As you might notice, I spin-up pretty quickly on this topic.

Any other ideas? If so, I'll forward them to the prosecutor via cell...

Take an adult magazine and put a sports illustrated jacket on it. Just because the cover says its a sports mag. doesn't make it so. (or I guess you could use a children's magazine to make it a little closer to the facts.

My Dad likes to say, "No matter how much mayonaise you add to Chicken #$&*$, you aren't ever going to make it taste like chicken salad.

To this defendant wearing his garments of sympathy, make note of his date of enlistment and his apparel here today; we would speak as Hamlet to Rosencrantz and Gildenstern:

Why, look you now, how unworthy a thing you make of
me! You would play upon me; you would seem to know
my stops; you would pluck out the heart of my
mystery; you would sound me from my lowest note to
the top of my compass: and there is much music,
excellent voice, in this little organ; yet cannot
you make it speak. 'Sblood, do you think I am
easier to be played on than a pipe? Call me what
instrument you will, though you can fret me, yet you
cannot play upon me.

Hamlet Act III Scene II

OR

Wrapping himself in a uniform is as putting gauze and bandage on cancer:

Mother, for love of grace,
Lay not that mattering unction to your soul,
That not your trespass, but my madness speaks:
It will but skin and film the ulcerous place,
Whilst rank corruption, mining all within,
Infects unseen.

Sorry Phillip,
But since the porn trial in question is occurring in the county in which both New Caney and Splendora lie (see perjury thread), I'm thinking a quote from Hamlet might not go over too well.... Wink

Well, go with:

Putting powdered sugar on a cow chip doesn't make it a doughnut; hot butter on a polecat doesn't make it grits; etc.

I suspect that our friend is doing a very good job at seeking justice! A great prosecutor! Big Grin

You forget the Woodlands and the other wealthy subdivisions out that way, but given the state of education today, when some think of Hamlet, they might wonder..."Does McDonalds put that on an english muffin or a croussaint...and can I get that with cheese?

Greg and others,
You'll be happy to know that the jury was as offended by Mr. Uniform Guy as they indicated at voir dire.
20 x 2 on promotion of child porn and the judge stacked them!
They made him get out of the uniform as soon as he was sentenced.

Congratulations Sarah!

Lisa,

I heard from a very happy yet probably exhausted Sarah as she made her way home from the trial. The defendant got hammered, as he well should have!

Congrats Sarah! You rocked the courthouse!

Great result!

I once saw Joe Black in Harrison County send a former marine to the pen for child pornography. The idiot had his chevrons tatooed on his arms where they would have been on his uniform. Wonder how that turned out.......
