Does subpoena service by fax require a written return fax receipt [CCP 24.04] or is it sufficient for the process server to attach the fax report showing the fax went through OK to the return and note that the recipient verified by phone that she received and accepted the subpoena? Is this an adequate return if the witness does not appear and you're required to show due diligence?
