I am slotted to teach an 8 hour class at the ETAIA Arson Conference in November. Looking for any topics/areas that fellow prosecutors might want me to cover with the CFIs, AIs and Fire Marshals. There are usually around 150 of these guys at the conference from all over Texas.

Topics I plan to cover:
Case prep/presentation
Courtroom testimony/demeanor
Locating/Collecting Digital Evidence
Warrants (in particular phone/computer/social media)
Discovery under 39.14

I was originally scheduled to share this time with a fancy suit lawyer but now have the 8 hours all on my own. If anyone knows a good victim...er I mean, good defense or civil attorney that might want to wow some good folks with their arson expertise, I am still more than willing to share the platform.

Also, the seminar is free to any ADAs that want to come up this way. Dr. John DeHann is the speaker for the first two days.
