Our recent devestating floods have also wreaked havoc with our budget. It looks like the investigator slot may not be in next year's budget. Anyone have any ideas about alternate funding sources, grants, etc.?

Sorry to hear about the budget crunches. Check with your area Council of Gov't (COG) or go to www.govenor.state.tx.us/criminaljustice/index.htm

The grant funding period for 2003-2004 just opened and proposals are due November 27, 2002. Many of the funding sources require a percentage of $$ be awarded to prosecution projects. Look for information on individual grant funds to see if you are eligible. I suggest you look at State Criminal Justice Planning (421), Juvenile Justice And Delinquency Prevention, VOCA and VAWA.

Good Luck!
