When the Defendant got out of TDC, he registered an address in our county. He then failed to register the next year and was found living in another county the year after that. This case is now set for trial. Upon interviewing the witnesses, it has come to my attention that the address the Defendant registered in our county was a warehouse and not a home. One witness will testify that he never lived in our county during that time, but lived in two other counties. {Sidenote: Our police agency never picked up on the fact that this was a warehouse and even let him re-register that same address after he was found.} Does that evidence affect my jurisdiction in any way? We have charged him with both failing to register annually and not notifying our agency of his change of address within 7 days. Thanks in advance! | ||
