We are looking for suggestions of what people are doing with CDL speeding tickets that are appealed to County Court. Please help with the reading of CCP 42.111 in conjunction with CCP 45.051. Thanks!

It is my understanding that if a person holds a CDL they cannot receive a deferred sentence on their speeding ticket. [See CCP 45.051(f)(2)] However, sometimes I allow the defendant to a lesser included offense by reducing the speed to under 15 miles over the limit. This makes the offense no longer a "serious violation" under the Transp. Code. chapter 522.
