May more than one prosecuting attorney (i.e. an ADA and a DA) be present in the grand jury during case presentation? Is there a prohibition? See 20.011 and 20.03 of the CCP. We have a motion to quash filed based on the above grounds. One of our assistants is researching the issue and can only find that in Federal court, more than one can be present. The statutory language "attorneys" is pluralized.

I can't imagine anyone reading the CCP to permit only one prosecutor to be present. That makes no sense whatsoever.

Consider referring to the following provision of the Code Construction Act:

Section 311.012. Tense, Number, and Gender
(b) The singular includes the plural and the plural includes the singular.
