Is there a criminal offense for Unauthorized release of MV registration? I have found under Tx Transportation code Sec 730.004 where it is prohibited, however, there is no offense or punishment attached. This release was NOT for renumeration or any monetary gain. I am aware the release of CCH info is clearly listed under Sec 411.085. Thanks.

Okay, one more thing, it appears some Social Security numbers are attached to the MV Registration as some type of ID# with the vehicle information that was released. Does that "create" a criminal offense?
