We had docket call today for misdemanor cases. We have only two attornies that will take criminal cases. Today, one of the attornies was unable to attend and notified our office in advance. The only other attorney, with no prior notice to our office, told the judge that the attorney had to go to Fort Worth today and needed to get away ASAP.

I approached the bench and pointed out to the judge (non-lawyer consitutional county judge, no college degree) that the other attorney had already asked for a pass for the ninth time! In a derogatory sneer, the county judge said "Well he's got number ten now." Looks to me like a Narcissistic, nopoleonic, little man complex. The county judge is partial to this other lawyer over all the others, and the judge adores his office. He was a County Commissioner prior to becoming the County Judge.

I need ideas. What can I do?
