LA prosecutor Alan Jackson gives a perfect example of a five minute opening statement in the Phil Spector murder trial. The five minute video can be found at http://www.courttv.com/trials/spector/072407_ctv.html?page=1 and go down the left of the screen and click on: Prosecution opening: 'The real Phillip Spector' Mr. Jackson's argument is a textbook example of a fine, succinct opening statement in a complex case. Every prosecutor should watch this video and learn. This clip was probably just the summary portion of his argument, but it really was very good at summing up what the evidence in that case has since shown. He closes mentioning the litany of women who Spector allegedly victimized, and then ends with this last line, of which many of us have used a variance: "You'll have to hear from Lana Clarkson through the evidence." | ||
