I've got a guy who solicitated a minor on-line. He didn't set up a meet. He did think the cop was a 13 y.o. and he showed his "assets".

Is there a requirement for this guy to register? I've read the code, I see soliciation, but it's not specific to on-line. He was essentially exposing himself. Any ideas?

The Legislature added the new Penal Code offense of Online Solicitation of a Minor (PC Sec. 33.021) to the old registration statute in CCP Art. 62.01 as subsection (N). In another bill, the Lege renumbered and reorganized Art. 62.01 into Art. 62.001 -- but the registration requirement should still be valid under the Code Construction Act.
