These are the facts from JP court this morning on a DWLI ticket. 1) Def is visiting family; his car is in the driveway in front of his son's, so he takes his son's car. Gets a no insurance ticket. 2) Def is seriously ill on court date (hospitalized). Calls in, is told to pay ticket, does so. 3) Def gets paperwork from DPS, shows proof of insurance for HIS vehicles - not for his son's. He sends in insurance for son's vehicle - no accepted because not in his name 4) Def DL is suspended because he has not shown financial responsibility for son's vehicle.

I know he COULD have gotten out of it by showing the JP that he was not driving his vehicle; the JP is not willing to do the "this is a mistake" paperwork. How does Def get his license back?

My suggestion was that he get a ride to Austin, take all his paperwork and see if he can get help there. The poor soul is a travelling salesman with a clean DL... Roll Eyes
