Jeff Bray died on Saturday, August 20, 2011. He crossed the paths of many prosecutors working in three counties (Gregg, Dallas, and Collin) and, finally, with the Plano Police Department. Despite his serious health issues, he always wanted to do more for his profession and was happy to give up his precious time to present CLE programs and help others.
Jeff is a credit to our profession and a great guy. Always, he was willing to tirelessly work for a solution no matter who brought a problem to him. He will be very missed, and my thoughts are with his family. Jeff.
Young and single, Jeff landed in Gregg County in 1995, fresh out of law school, to take over as our juvenile prosecutor. He was bright and gracious and never seemed to mind us poking fun at his failure to wear socks with his loafers (in court). He hardly noticed when threatened with bodily harm by IT and our office mgr if he crashed the computer system again with his laptop. He was loved by the folks at Juvenile Probation but all too quickly he departed for the big cities west of here. From afar we kept tabs on him and watched as he continued to prosper, personally and professionally. Our thoughts are with his family.
