This may have been discussed before (although a search through the archives did not yield anything). If it has, I apologize.

Now that officers can write citations for POM if they so choose, what court do you have the D report to? I guess the D can wait to see if the case will be presented, filed, and a warrant issued, but that seems less than optimal. What have you advised your local law enforcement agencies?

I gave each law enforecement agency a list of county court dates and told them to write a court date on the ticket that is approximately 60 days off. That gives us time to get the offense report, review it and file the charge if warranted. We do not issue a warrant unless the defendant fails to appear on the court date.
