Does you county jail record all outgoing phone calls? If so, do you obtain the recordings and use them during trial?

Our jail does record the outgoing calls and we have used them in trial. About 3 months ago, we had a guy on trial for burglary / assault for breaking into his girlfriend's apartment and "teaching her a lesson". We got the recordings (each call begins with a notice that the calls are being recorded and monitored) where he begs/threatens/begs/threatens/begs/threatens her to change her story over about 3 weeks prior to trial. Also, he spent alot of time and money explaining how the assault was her all fault. Worked very well in his case but caused a decline in inmates speaking about their cases on the phone.

Don't worry, inmates have a short attention span. They will begin talking again, soon.
