Copyright lawsuit filed against Galveston man Chronicle, other newspapers claim Web sites posted their material By ANITA HASSAN The Houston Chronicle, several other newspapers and The Associated Press filed a federal lawsuit against a Galveston man Friday, claiming he infringed upon their copyrights by posting their news stories on his Web sites without permission. The Chronicle, the Beaumont Enterprise, the San Antonio Express-News and their owner, the Hearst Corp., the Galveston County Daily News, the Brazosport Facts, the Baytown Sun, the Tribune of Bay City and the AP are all plaintiffs in the suit filed in a Houston federal court against Police News Publishing Co., owner Breck Porter and six affiliated Web sites.
