You gotta read it to believe it. A judge in Houston orders a defendant handcuffed in mid trial because he heard about a defendant in California who stabbed his attorney with a pen. Defense attorney, apparently, is not so frightened of the California report and wants his client writing notes rather than ranting in lawyer's ear (who can blame him?). Nonetheless, wise judge still demands the cuffs. Lawyer, no doubt sarcastically, says he will even settle for crayons. No way, says judge. Please, somewhere out there is the prosecutor who no doubt watched this with open mouth, thinking he had fallen into the Twilite Zone. Please, give us your memories. For the opinion, click here. | ||
