She is a former Harris County prosecutor. Served on district court bench. Then appointed to court of appeals in Houston. Oh, and she is board certified in criminal law. I'm impressed.

When I was briefing attorney for Judge Keyes on the First Court, I spent some time on the same panel as Judge Alcala. She will make a fine addition to the CCA.
